ABCRoof & Skylight

Roof & Skylight Specialists — Long Island

The part that takes every storm

Roof repair, full replacement and skylights across Nassau and Suffolk. Free estimate, a written quote, and a crew that cleans up before it leaves.

01 — On paper

Every roof startsas geometry

Pitch, planes, valleys and penetrations. Get those wrong on the drawing and no shingle on the market will save it later.

02 — Underneath

Everything below ittakes months

Excavation, framing, wiring, plumbing. Months of work that only stays dry because of the layer that goes on last.

03 — The forecast

Weather setsthe schedule

Concrete waits on temperature, and so do adhesives, sealants and shingles. We work to the forecast, not to the calendar.

04 — Our part

This is wherewe start

Decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation. The layers nobody ever sees are the ones doing the actual work.

05 — What lasts

And this is the partthat cannot leak

Decades of weather on the one surface with no margin for error. That is the whole job, and it is all we do.

Why us

Roof repair and replacement on Long Island

A roof is the only part of a building with no margin for error. Everything else can be adjusted later. This either keeps the weather out or it does not.

We inspect, we quote in writing, we tear off, we flash, we ventilate, we install, and we come back if anything moves.

Tear-offs, full replacements, cedar, metal and commercial work. Drag a row sideways to see the rest, or tap any photo to open it full size.

Senior living community — full re-roof

Commercial & multifamily · architectural asphalt shingle · 5 photos

A phased tear-off and re-roof across a multi-building campus. Each building was stripped, decked and dried in the same day, so nothing was ever left open overnight with residents inside.

Estate roof replacement

Designer shingle · copper valleys and flashing · 9 photos

Large brick and stone homes where the roof is most of what you actually see from the drive. Full tear-off to the deck, every flashing detail replaced in metal, then designer shingles laid to the plane.

Cedar shake roofing

Cedar shake · tear-off and new install · 6 photos

Cedar is unforgiving of a bad detail. These went on over a complete dry-in, with sidewalls, valleys and chimneys flashed in metal rather than sealed with caulk.

Standing seam metal roof

Standing seam · concealed fastener panels · 2 photos

A low-pitched contemporary house where panels run the full length of every slope. No exposed fasteners, and no penetration that was not properly flashed and curbed.

Tear-off & dry-in

Process · decking, underlayment, flashing · 17 photos

What a replacement actually looks like between the old roof coming off and the new one going on. Rotten decking is replaced as we find it, the property is tarped before we start, and the house is dried in the same day.

Completed shingle replacements

Full replacement · architectural asphalt shingle · 14 photos

Finished single-family roofs — hips, valleys, dormers, step flashing and ridge vent — photographed the day the crew swept up and left.

    Free estimate

We get on the roof, photograph what we find, and show you the pictures. No charge and no obligation.

  2. 02

    Fixed price in writing

Itemised and firm. You see what the materials cost, what the labour costs, and what would change the price.

  3. 03

    The work

Property protected before we start, rotten decking replaced as we find it, and a magnet run over the grounds when we finish.

  4. 04

    After

Workmanship guarantee alongside the manufacturer warranty, both in writing. If something moves, we come back.

Common questions

Roofing questions we get asked

  1. Q

Do I need a repair or a full replacement?

It depends on the age of the roof and how widespread the problem is. A single failed flashing detail on an otherwise sound ten-year-old roof is a repair. Widespread granule loss, curling shingles or multiple leaks on a twenty-year-old roof usually means replacement is the cheaper option over time. We photograph what we find and show you, so it is your call rather than ours.

  2. Q

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most single-family homes are a one to three day job once we start, weather permitting. Tear-off and dry-in usually happen the same day so the house is never left open overnight. Larger or steeper roofs, and anything needing significant decking replacement, take longer.

  3. Q

Do you handle storm damage insurance claims?

We document wind and hail damage with the photographs and measurements an adjuster will accept, and we can meet the adjuster at the property. We do not file the claim for you, but we make sure the evidence supporting it is complete.

  4. Q

My skylight leaks. Does it need replacing?

Often not. Most skylight leaks are the flashing or the seal around the curb rather than the unit itself, and those can be repaired. If the glazing seal has failed or the unit is more than about twenty years old, replacing it while the roof is open is usually the better value.

  5. Q

What happens during a free estimate?

We get on the roof rather than assessing it from the ground, check the flashing, valleys, penetrations and ventilation, look at the decking from inside where we can, and photograph everything. You get the photographs and a written quote whether or not you go ahead.
